Day 1 of 12 days Rwanda safari: Arrival in Rwanda
On this first day of your 12 Days Rwanda Vacation Tour, you will find a driver guide from our Rwanda tours and travel company waiting for you at the airport, with clear written banner having your names you will see him and met him. Warm welcome as he helps you with available luggage to take it to car then drive to your Hotel for refreshment and dinner.
Day 2: Kigali City tour and transfer to Parc National de Volcanoes
After breakfast at your Hotel in the morning of your 12 Days Rwanda Vacation Tour, you will have a short Kigali city tour and later you will drive to Parc Nationale Des Volcanes / Volcanoes National Park via Ruhengeri. Enjoying beautiful scenery of rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known to be the country of a thousand hills. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast at your lodge on this third day of your 12 Days Rwanda Tour, you will head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing from the park wardens. After the briefing, you will then head for mountain gorilla trekking with in Volcanoes National park with the rest of the members in your gorilla trekking group. Your encounter with these man’s closest shy friends will be a highlight of your Rwanda Safari holiday and the experience you will get this day, will be memorable and your safari will be a once life time to remember. Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours with in this jungle forest and it depends on the movement of the Gorillas on the previous and that particular day. After tracking, you will retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Golden monkeys trekking and transfer to Lake Kivu
In the morning you will set out for Golden Monkey trekking with in the forest. Return to the lodge for lunch and after transfer to Lake Kivu. Upon arrival, you can relax at the beach or take a swim in this fresh and bilharzia-free lake. Then next day of this 12 Days Rwanda Vacation Tour is a relaxation day. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Whole day at Lake Kivu
After breakfast at the Hotel on this fifth day of your 12 Days Rwanda Safari, you will take a boat trip to the coffee growing island on Lake Kivu. The cruise will reward you with a spectacular beautiful view of the Nyiragongo Volcano which last erupted in 2002. After the cruise, have a short tour around Gisenyi and later return back to your Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Lake Kivu to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After an early morning breakfast on this sixth day of your 12 Days safari in Rwanda, you will leave this area and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. This is a home to almost 25% of the African Primate species. Upon arrival, you will take a canopy walk with in the forest. Specifically, the canopy walk is good for birders so as to enable you spot a variety of bird species with in the forest. While enjoying the canopy walk, look out for birds like the Rwenzori Turacco, black and white casqued hornbill and also do not miss spots of large troops of colobus monkeys. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking
After a fully served breakfast at the lodge on this seventh day of your 12 Days Rwanda Vacation Tour, you will go for the chimpanzee trekking activity within the forest. You will set out when it’s still dark like 5:00am in the morning and reach the area where the chimpanzees are found within the forest when its already day like at 6:00am. Take your time and watch the chimpanzees. Besides the Chimpanzees, you look out for other primate species like the Angola colobus monkeys, forest birds, reptiles and butterflies. Return for lunch, relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Nyungwe to Kigali
After breakfast at the Guest house or lodge on this eighth day of your 12 Days Rwanda Vacation Tour, you will drive back to Kigali. En route you will visit the Botanical Gardens and the cultural museum in Butare which was donated by the Belgium government in 1989. Continue and visit the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza. Later connect to Kigali for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Akagera National Park
In the morning after breakfast on this day of your 12 Days Rwanda Vacation Tour, you will be transferred to Akagera National Park for a wildlife safari. The Park is one of the most complex Savannah ecosystems in Rwanda and in East Africa at large with beautiful landscapes, abundant birdlife and the big game animals. Upon arrival, you will go for a cone ride which will offer you with beautiful views of the Park’s water loving animals. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Full day Akagera National Park
After breakfast on this tenth day of your 12 Days tour in Rwanda, you will set out for a full day game viewing safari with in the Park with your packed lunch. Day 11: Transfer back to Kigali

Day 12: Departure
